In the backdrop of the recent Mundakkai- Chooralmala disaster that shook the whole country, a programme conducted for’ Climate Warriors’ and farmers of Sugandhagiri region of Pozhuthana Grama Panchayath on the subject of Climate change, agriculture and soil fertility improvement. Sri. Subramanian (Agriculture Officer, Retired) took session on the subject and Mr. Joseph John (Scientist, MSSRF) took the session on the Changing climatic conditions and Wayanad district. In the programme, the focus was given on the disaster preparedness and immediate alert measures so that people could take appropriate measures to save themselves. In addition to that, the major changes that can be practiced in the agriculture field for crop improvement was also discussed.
