HDFC Bank’s Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP), implemented by MSSRF has successfully upgraded Anganwadi facilities in Kumbalangi, creating vibrant and stimulating learning environments for young children.
The upgraded Anganwadi was inaugurated by Smt. Baby Tampi, President of the Palluruthy Block Panchayat, and the event was presided over by Smt. Susan Joseph, President of Kumbalangi Grama Panchayat.
Shri N. Subhash, Senior Vice President and Zonal Head at HDFC Bank delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the bank’s commitment to sustainable rural development.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Smt. Shyama Praveen, Parivartan Volunteer from Kumbalangi, followed by an introduction to the project by Shri Binesh M.K., Project Manager at MSSRF.
Mr. Sajeev Antony, Ward member of the Palluruthy Kumbalangi Grama Panchayat; Dr. Shilpa, CDPO; Mrs. Nita Sunil, Block Panchayat member; Mrs. Angel Jinsi, ICDS Supervisor; Mr. Joseph T.M., Branch Manager at HDFC Bank Palluruthy; Mr. Sijo Thomas, Development Coordinator; Distin V.P., Development Associate; and Mary Sumi, Development Assistant at MSSRF spoke on the occasion. Nisha Mol, teacher at Kumbalangi Anganwadi, extended the vote of thanks.
The newly upgraded Anganwadi now features colorful murals, soft floor mats, educational toys, and interactive play areas, all designed to create a welcoming space that enhances early childhood learning experiences.
The MSSRF-HDFC partnership has transformed 117 Anganwadis across Ernakulam, Idukki and Wayanad.
