On-Board Training on Group Formation for Farmers

The M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) Community Agrobiodiversity Centre in Wayanad organized a training and orientation program for farmers in the Adikkolly Padichira Cluster. The event was part of the LIC HFL CSR-supported project, aiming to promote sustainable crop management strategies and enhance the skills of local farmers in value addition.


A total of 38 farmers from Padichira village participated in the training led by Mr. Binesh M.K., Project Manager at MSSRF. The session focused on group formation, problem-solving skills, and key concepts of group management. Mr. Binesh emphasized the importance of farmers’ collectives and FPOs and provided guidance on building cohesive and high-performing teams.

During the interactive session, farmers actively engaged in discussions and raised questions about the project and agricultural entrepreneurship. Mr. Sanil PC, Development Coordinator, Mr. Habeeb, Development Associate, and, Babu kandathinkara,Grama Panchayath Member,Pulpally interacted with the participants.


The project aims to cover 200 farmers and promote sustainable crop management strategies for black pepper and turmeric. It also seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of tribal and marginal farmers in value addition and micro-enterprise development.
