On October 2, 2023, the residents of Muttil Mandad and Kappukunnu Hamlet joined hands for a community clean-up drive and awareness program, as a part of Gandhi Jayathi. The initiative aimed to promote hygiene and awareness within these communities and was a remarkable display of community spirit.
In Muttil Mandad, community members collaborated with the ICDS staff to clean up the Anganwadi area. The HDFC Bank Parivartan’s HRDP Project provided toys, materials, and Bala Painting to beautify the Anganwadi, making it more engaging for the attending children. The entire initiative was effectively coordinated by Mrs. Reena, a devoted Grama Parivartan volunteer.
The residents of Kappukunnu Hamlet celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm. People of all ages came together to participate in a clean-up drive, in honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy. The event aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and pride in keeping their surroundings clean.
The children of Kappukunnu Hamlet actively took part in the clean-up, displaying their dedication to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. Moreover, Mr. Rahul, a local banker, conducted an informative session on personal hygiene, promoting good hygiene practices among community members.
Mr. Jobish Jose, a dedicated Grama Parivartan volunteer, played a vital role in organizing and coordinating the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations and the clean-up drive in Kappukunnu Hamlet.
These initiatives serve as shining examples of positive change achieved when communities come together with a shared vision.
