HDFC Bank CSR programme, Parivartan implemented by M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation planted 150 fruit trees along the Pazhamthodu lake, Koduvazhanga of Alangad village. The activity contributes to one of the goals of Parivartan, a step towards carbon neutrality.’ The plantation drive was completed with the help of Local Self Governments, Pazhamthodu Samrakshana Samithi, and the MNREG programme.
Smt. Remya Thomas, Block Panchayat President, Alangad announced the completion of the plantation drive. F Manaf, President, Grama Panchayath, Alangad presided over the function. A seminar on the importance of wetlands was also organised as part of the programme. Dr Sanil Kumar Assistant Professor, SNM College, Maliankara presented the topic. MNREGP labourers who supported the plantation drive were felicitated at the event.
