Dairy products unit supported under the HDFC Bank CSR programme inaugurated by Sri. V.S Pradeesh President, Paarakkadavu, Block Panchayath. HDFC Bank’s officials, Representatives of Local Self Governments, and the stakeholders of the program participated in the event.
Ten-member women group runs the unit and was also trained in product development, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The project has supported various machinery including milk pasteurizer, cream separator, cooler, fridge, sealing machines, manual sip-up machine, manual paneer press, manual batch coding stamp, and curd percolator. Various value-added dairy products such as paneer, curd, ghee, butter, buttermilk, peda, sip up, etc. will be targeted for production.
Elamkunnapuzha, Njarakkal, Nayarambalam, Edavanakkad, Kuzhuppilly, Pallipuram, Moothakunnam, Vadakkekkara, Chendamangalam, Varappuzha, Alanagad, Karumalloor, Chengamanad, and Parakkadavu are the villages where the HDFC Bank Parivartan programme is being implemented in the district from 2021 for a period of 3 years. M S Swaminathan Research Foundation implementing the HDFC Bank’s CSR initiative Parivartan jointly brought up an initiative that aims to improve the livelihoods and economic security of rural women and restore and/or protect the farm production capacities and off-farm income-generating activities to create a positive impact on their disaster resilience. Parivartan program comes up with setting up Two Dairy value addition units in 2 villages in Ernakulum.
Sri. S.V Jayadevan, President, Paarakkadavu Gramapanchayath presided over the function. Sri M.T. Jayan, Chairman of Milma Ernakulam was the chief guest of the programme. Ms. Shiny George, Vise president, of the District Panchayat, made the first sale. Sri.M.
