The first phase of ‘library support’ activity, part of HDFC Bank-supported Holistic rural development programme where books and book shelves are given to libraries from 14 villages was inaugurated by Hon.K.N.Unnikrishnan, MLA,Vypin.
14 selected libraries from Elamkunnapuzha, Edavankkad,Njarackal, Nayarambalam,Kuzhupilly and Pallipuram villages were given support in the first phase. The Block panchayat President Smt.Tulsi Soman gave the presidential address. Chief guest M.Suchithra who is an author and journalist talked about the importance of Ecological literacy and the need to conserve biodiversity.MSSRF Senior scientist Mr.Prajeesh Parameshwaran introduced the project. Cluster coordinator M.P.Shajan, K.A Sajith, Ramani Ajayan, Subodha Shaji and Chaithra P.R shared their views.
