Good quality planting materials of fruit trees are available for farmers at M. S. Swaminathan Botanical Garden, Wayanad. Seedlings available at the garden have high productivity, disease and pest resistance abilities and have been raised with budding and grafting techniques. Selection and procurement of the seedlings were made under the supervision of a qualified person of the institute and are being managed in the nursery under strict monitoring and observation. Since the prevailing climatic condition in the district is best suited for the planting of fruit trees, this opportunity could be better utilized by farmers and planters who always depend on other districts for planting materials.
