Mr. Sivan is currently working as Senior Scientist and Head in Charge. He holds a PG degree in botany and started his career as a teacher. Acquired experience in biodiversity inventorying, monitoring and conservation of plant diversity of Western Ghats during the period 1994-1998. He had worked in People Biodiversity Register preparation in 7 states in India and also in School Biodiversity programme in Karnataka. During this time took part in preparing field identification key (electronic) for medicinal plants and training manuals for PBR and SBR. Activities of Lifescape project were coordinated. As part of Lifescape project, a publication series in Resonance was also coordinated. During the period 1994-2003 very extensive ecological field work was carried all along Western Ghats with respect to flowering plants and acquired knowledge in computer applications particularly related to management and analysis of data. Since 2003 April working at Community Agro-biodiversity Centre of MSSRF in the area of promotion of medicinal plant conservation, cultivation and utilization.
