M. P. Shajan a Development Associate is currently serving as the Coordinator for the Parivartan Holistic Rural Development Programme based in Ernakulam District. He is currently associated with Puthenvelikkara Gramapanchayath as a District Resource Person and as a member of its Biodiversity Management Committee. As an ardent naturalist, he is also coordinating Puzha Kuttikoottam, a children’s initiative for river campaigns.

He had served as the Chairman of the Welfare Standing Committee, during his tenure as a Member of Puthenvelikkara Gramapanchayath (2000-2005). He was also one of the resource persons for the People’s Planning Programme and has experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of rural development programmes in various capacities. He has also worked with Western Ghats Hornbill Foundation and Chalakkudi Puzha Samrakshana Samithi.
