Mr.Jibin Thomas currently serves as the Coordinator of M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Kuttanad, Kerala. He holds a commerce graduation from Mahatma Gandhi University and a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the Central University of Kerala. He has been administering the Swaminathan Foundation’s activities and various projects at Kuttanad field sites for the past many years. His areas of expertise include water governance, water literacy, water management and environmental protection. He played a pivotal role when appointed as a member of the ‘MSSRF’ team constituted to earn Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS) recognition from the United Nations, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). His first full-time appointment was in this organization as a Project Manager of the Indo-US Project (MSSRF-R4H) for sustainable drinking water solutions supported by the Rainwater for Humanity, United States. Subsequently, he led the implementation of DST (Department of Science and Technology) supported “WAR FOR WATER” project and also HDFC Bank Parivartan CSR Project implementation in the Kuttanad region. He is currently coordinating the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) SDF- LEAB project in Kuttanad. He actively involves himself in various socially relevant projects which focus on matters of academic, research, policy advocacy, governance, innovation, entrepreneurship and environmental relevance.
