Idukki and Wayanad districts are located high on the Western Ghats of Kerala. Most areas have poor electric connectivity, especially on rural roads and many public places. Parivartan project has identified 20 villages in the districts that had poor access to Streetlight facilities and issues like wild animal attacks. The selected 20 project villages were supported with 200 solar streetlights. The installation of solar streetlights got wide acceptance among the local communities in the project villages.
