Commemorating Gandhi Jayanthi with Green Hope: Tree Plantation Event held in Wayanad

MSSRF CAbC celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi by engaging in a collaborative effort with the Anti Populace Environmental Society (APES), Midland Engineering Constructions, and Vaduvanchal Government Higher Secondary School NSS students to plant avenue trees alongside the Meppadi Ooty road, Wayanad.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Sri. John Master, the President of APES. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Padmasree Cheruvayal Raman, and V.N. Saseendran, who presided over the function as the President of Moopainadu Grama Panchayath. Sri. Manoj, the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Vaduvanchal, delivered the introductory speech, while Dr. N. Anilkumar, Former Executive Director of MSSRF, shared a keynote address. Sri. Basheer Anand John provided insights into the event’s procedures.
The event also featured felicitation speeches by Sri. Varghese of Paschima Ghatta Samrakshana Samithi, Sri. Nandakumar, Assistant Manager, HR & Admin at MSSRF CAbC, Sri. Salim Pichan, Technical Assistant at MSSRF CAbC, and Sri. Subhash Master, NSS Programme Officer at GHSS Vaduvanchal. In total, 603 seedlings of 43 different Rare Endemic Threatened (RET) tree species were distributed and planted along the roadside.
