Smart School Inaugurated at SDPY KPM High School

A Smart School was inaugurated at SDPY KPM High School, Edavanakkad village on Monday, August 14, 2023 by Sri. Hibi Eden, MP, Ernakulam. The project was launched under the CSR-Programme of HDFC Bank implemented by M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF).

The Smart School intervention provided advanced technology and equipment to SDPY KPM High School to provide students with a more engaging and effective learning experience. This includes interactive display panels, digital learning materials, a water purifier and renovated a classroom for the smart class.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Sri. Hibi Eden said, “This is a great initiative by MSSRF HDFC Bank to provide smart schools in rural areas. This will help to improve the quality of education for students in these areas.”

Smt.Azeena Abdhulsalam, Panchayat President, Edvanakkad presided over the function. Sri. Abdul Razak K A, PTA President SDPY KPM High School welcomed the gathering. The project activities were explained by Sri. Prajeesh Parameshwaran, Senior Scientist, MSSRF. Ajith V S (HDFC Bank Manager, Njarakkal Branch), V K Eqbal (Panchayath President), and P N Thankaraj (Panchayath Member) gave felicitations. The vote of thanks was proposed by Rathnakala C, HM, SDPY KPM High School.

Since 2021, HDFC Bank and MSSRF have supported 10 schools in the district under the Smart School programme. The concept of SMART School is brought in with the objective of improving the learning experience in the Govt. Schools at par with those in the urban locations with adequate resources and technology. The idea is to create a conducive environment and ample opportunities for the students to learn and for the teachers to be enabled in adopting various methods of proven efficient teaching-learning methods. In doing so, the projects will aim to improve the learning level outcomes of the Govt. School Students
