R.Sanjeev is currently working as Scientist in Kuttanad Centre. He holds Post graduation in Agriculture with specialisation in Genetics and Plant breeding (ICAR). During 2003 -2006 worked in various NGO’s in Puducherry and Tamilnadu in the field of agriculture especially in Tanks Rehabilitation projects funded by European commission and Ensemble Foundation, France. Since 2007 July onwards worked in MSSRF Community Managed Bio industrial projects funded by TATA trusts gained practical experience in promotion of System of Rice (SRI) cultivation in especially in watershed areas involving PTD (Participatory Technological Development) process. During OCPF project in 2012-2016, conducted Participatory varietal trials with ruling varieties of blackgram, greengram and redgram of Pulse crop, Paddy, Onions, Maize and sorghum crops in the project villages, monitored and conducted farmers field school at regular intervals and documented the best performing site specific varieties involving PTD process. During 2017-18 worked at Head quarter of MSSRF in Farming System for Nutrition: A Pathway for Addressing Malnutrition in India conducted consultation meeting with District Officials of Bihar, Maharashtra, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh documented the cropping pattern and prepared a Biofortified crop calendar for all these states and related publications. Since 2018 working in MSSRF Kuttanad centre, organized feasibility study meeting for establishment of Rice Bio Park in Kuttanad region and also associated with study team of MSSRF and updated the GIAHS status of Kuttanad region in 2019. Currently he serving as a Cluster Co-coordinator for the Holostic rural development programme supported by HDFC Bank at Kuttanad.
